About the Facilitator
TD (she/any) is a cultural organizer and community gardener/composter. With support from The Laundromat Project, she was able to create the BedStuy Community Composting Syllabus, a resource for BedStuy (and surrounding) residents to learn more about compost through a practical, local, and hands-on approach.
Objective
Curious about compost? Learn more about community composting through a practical, local, and hands-on approach. Join us in making nutrient-rich compost, a vital soil amendment that helps grow healthier plants and produce locally and makes our city more resilient to the impacts of climate change. Participants will gain knowledge across the entire decomposition cycle—from best practices in collecting food scraps to compost application.
Earth Day in the Garden will be taking place afterwards from 12-3pm—stay for some seed starting, arts and crafts, and more.
All ages, free, and open to the public.
