About Facilitators:

Ladies & Gentlemen Studio is a bi-coastal based design studio operating between Seattle and Brooklyn embracing the best of both coasts. L&G Studio’s sensibility and design philosophy is about discovering complementary opposites with an unexpected balance of warm minimalism, playful austerity, and simple sophistication.

Founded by Dylan Davis & Jean Lee in 2010, L&G Studio’s explorative spirit is a blend of their resourceful curiosity with the desire to celebrate material & functionality in unexpected ways.

Rockaway Film Festival started in 2018 as a four-day experiment to bring cinema back to Rockaway, where there hadn’t been a movie theater in over thirty years. Since then, we’ve grown into a year-round organization offering screenings, live music, performances, and other opportunities for people to gather.

Defined by its location between the Atlantic Ocean and Jamaica Bay, the Rockaway Peninsula is exceptional as both a barrier island with beaches and salt-water marshes — and also a city neighborhood. Our programs are informed by this distinctive landscape and our tickets are always $10 or free to make sure they’re accessible for everyone.

Objective:

Flying High invites creatives of all types who are interested in the art of kite-making and flying to take part in a festive one-day event at Rockaway Beach, NY. This is an invitation to connect to a spirit of lightness and joy while celebrating wind, ocean, and community. The day will be rounded out by live music and a film screening.

Open to people of all creative backgrounds and formats. Collaborate with friends, kids, family, etc. Try new ideas. Make something beautiful. Make something fly!
